Black metal is the strongest material in “Walheim” and is used to craft and forge some of the most useful tools and powerful weapons. However, this resource is very limited in the early stages of the survival game. Here are some tips and tricks on how to discover and smelt ferrous metals in “Walheim”.
There is only one way to obtain ferrous metal rods in “Walheim”, which is to obtain ferrous metal scraps and convert them into rods. However, obtaining black metal scrap is not an easy task, because the player needs to kill the demon known as Fu Ling. These creatures are only found in the plains biota, and they drop black metal fragments when they die.
Players can use the blast furnace to turn black metal shavings into black metal rods. It is similar to a smelter to some extent, but is used to forge higher-level equipment. To make a blast furnace, the player needs five Surtling cores, 20 stones, ten iron, and 20 high-quality wood. Stones can be found almost anywhere, and iron can be found in cavities and swamp biomes using wishbone.
Using black metal rods, players can now forge various weapons. This includes black metal knives, black metal axes and black metal swords. They can also design Black Metal Shield, Black Metal Towershield and Black Metal Atgier.
To forge a black metal axe, the player needs six high-quality wood, 20 black metal rods and five linen threads. Players also need to have Workbench Level 4 to make weapons. It is much cheaper to make black metal swords than black metal axes. Players only need a few high-quality wood, 20 black metal bars and five linen threads.
At the same time, four pieces of wood, ten pieces of black metal and five pieces of flax thread are required to make a black metal knife. For the black metal shield, the player needs to have a level 3 workbench, ten high-quality wood, five chains and eight black metal bars. Making a black metal tower shield is somewhat similar, except that the player needs 15 high-quality wood, ten black metal and seven chains.
